Financial Workshop to Determine Sustainability in Retrenchment
Dealing with retrenchment is never easy. It hurts your morale, your confidence and makes you doubt yourself. By adopting a positive mindset, retrenchment may be an opportunity to reflect on your career and possibly explore a new one.
One thing that you can do to overcome the shock of a sudden loss of a steady income is to take stock of your personal finances such as loan servicing commitments, household expenses and other sources of income, including using emergency savings or getting help from other family members.
Even if you have some savings that you can rely on, how long will your cash reserve last?
Credit Counselling Singapore provides a step-by-step guidance through a 2-hour workshop conducted in a group setting, to help you determine your personal financial position and an option (to be arranged by appointment only) to speak with a Credit Counsellor if you need further advice on how to restructure debt.
The objectives of the workshop are to enable participants to
- Conduct a self-assessment of their household expenses, loan servicing commitments and sources of funds.
- Make an assessment of their financial sustainability to meet essential household expenses and loan commitments.
- Identify potential areas where expenses could be reduced or even eliminated to stretch every dollar.
